Pisa is widely recognized as the cradle of Italian computing since the creation of the Calcolatrice Elettronica Pisana (CEP) in 1961, one of the first Italian electronic computers, developed at the University of Pisa. This pioneering spirit continued with the establishment of the first Italian degree programme in Computer Science in 1969 and with Pisa’s central role in the birth of the Italian Internet, marked by the first connection to the international network in 1986. 

Surrounded by historic computing machines and scientific instruments, the reception will offer participants the opportunity to meet fellow participants, exchange ideas, and enjoy a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
