Geppino Pucci

Geppino Pucci is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Padova. After earning
his Master’s and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Pisa, he was a
Postdoctoral Researcher at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, CA USA. He
also was an Associate Researcher at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and a Research
Scholar and Course Instructor at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY USA. A faculty member of the
University of Padova since 1992, he has served as a member-elect of the Academic Senate and as
the chair of the undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Computer Engineering. His
research focuses on theory and models of parallel computation, algorithms for big data analytics
and for unsupervised learning, and high-performance computing. On these topics, he has authored
or co-authored well over one hundred scientific publications. Prof. Pucci maintains numerous
collaborations with major research centers in Europe and in the United States. He was a member of
the expert group that drafted the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR)
National Research Plan for 2022–27, and is a Member ACM, IEEE and of the Galilean Academy of
Sciences, Letters and Arts in Padova.
